F2 282 Ride with Tushingham Thunderbird 6.5m and 36 fin.

Today is the start of a run of breezy weather and I was keen to get out for my 10th session of the year, my best month so far this year before the wind goes offshore and I will have to head to the River Orwell. With light winds in the morning I had plenty of time to do my exercises in the back garden, the sun was out in the morning, it only clouded over as the wind kicked in:( With the wind SW the Manor was the only option at Felixstowe today were a few were heading down, I arrived at Squiz Lane with Mag around two so she could walk home and it did not look that great as the wind was pretty offshore and looked gusty on the water. I walked up to the Manor car park but no one had arrived so I waited, Ian, Chris, Peter and Robert arrived and the wind picked up and was now along the beach so I returned to my van to set up. The F2 ride 282 and 6.5 were soon on the beach although I soon found out I could have used 5.6 especially with the sea being a big lumpy mess:( You were sailing out straight into steep waves making it not very pleasant, coming in was fractionally better but going fast was challenging especially being overpowered a lot of the time but I was very pleased with a year?s best mile and average, not bad considering the terrible sea conditions. So not my best ever session but loved going board as often as I dared the the fast mile was great, hopefully will get some sunshine and calmer conditions on the Orwell tomorrow, fingers crossed!
